Is Alas a Spanish Word?

I live now in the DR since 1995 I started in Sosua where I learned spanish and found out this is more spaneglish as spanish when I cam to santiago the first Time nobody undertood what I was talking about.Than I got married in San Francisco de Macoris where I lived for Years and my spanish skills where a lot better (I saw)anybody understud what I was talking about .I had to move to Spain (exactly Ourense Galicia) and a hard Time to explain what I want there but I learned fast. Back in the DR I moved to San Pedro and hey I did not have any Problem .Than moving to Santo Domingo and wow there was it again !!!!Difficulties !!!!! So all the Time I am here in the DR one Thing I learned Dominicans spell in Messages like they talk . Words with V and B are the most where it goes wrong.also they allways try to make Words short
so using an X for por so written is it like xque or extremely xq ,and now to confuse you a little more : alas are Wings ;a las 4 means at 4 ,alla means there. Sometimes I still go a little confused with reading Messages and if I remember sitting near my Girlfriend and lookang at what She was writing in her messages many Times I got no Idea.Spelling is very bad in many Parts of the Country and does not matter what kind of Education background the People have It showes up anywhere. If I remeber Hipolito Mejia one of the Dominican Presidents you could not understand a Dime
